Our Coaches

Chris Bilodeau is a black belt and co-owner of the Plateau BJJ academy. He began learning Jiu Jitsu in 2010 and has been an active competitor since the very beginning. He began teaching in 2014 as a purple belt and has developed a competition oriented style that focuses on technique over speed or strength. Chris has trained under multiple systems and brings a wide range of techniques to his Jiu Jitsu instruction. Since receiving his black belt in 2022, Chris has placed a great importance on sharing his knowledge and helping develop the next generation of Jiu Jitsu and Nogi competitors.

A Black Belt since 2019 under Carlson Gracie Jr, John has over sixteen years experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, twelve of which were as an instructor in one capacity or another. He also accrued over twelve years of experience as a referee for various tournaments in both Quebec and Ontario. Lastly, he is an avid practitioner, whenever possible, of Freestyle Wrestling.
